In 2020 GLOW is partnering with SELCO Foundation to implement our fourth round of sustainable solar projects in India.
With SELCO's 25th year of operation, our local partners have internally started a program of working with women business associates (BA) to catalyze entrepreneurship among women.
The role of these women will be to take ahead the concept of decentralized renewable energy usage and make sure that it reaches to as many people as possible.
These women will be individuals who believe in our concept and they are not our staff. SELCO's local teams will be helping the women BAs in carrying out their work effectively.
The aim is to reach out to 500 women BAs within the year. There are already 150 women on board.
GLOW is specifically assisting those BAs who have suffered abuse, violence and/ or assault.
The identified women will be provided marginal support from GLOW's fund which will enable them to own the livelihood systems through credit. These solarized livelihood devices (like sewing machines, roti rollers, etc), will boost the user's empowerment and income, alike.
